The Steering Committee has begun and will continue to create links with leading institutions in the field of child health and development. These institutions will be among those that will help in the various tasks relevant to the programme (e.g. the critical review of the literature and the testing of instruction manuals). The institutions are a part of a functional network including governmental and nongovernmental organizations and the advisory group.

The Steering Committee has established task forces which will carry out specific, time-limited tasks. In the first year of the programme three task forces have been established, including the Awareness, Primary Prevention and the Service and Development and Management Task Forces.

The Steering Committee has also established an International Advisory Group including experts in different fields relevant to child mental health.

The Programme is funded by an unrestricted educational grant from the Lilly Foundation and the generous support of institutions and individuals participating in the programme.
